Yet, there are many in the world today who have never experienced and have no appreciation for that love. Nevertheless, it is still there. How do we know that God loves us?
Have you ever stopped to think about the size and complexity of the universe? Have you ever stopped to think that God created it with a word? Not only that; but he created it out of nothing.
This same God who created the universe created our bodies. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalm 139:14). The human body is absolutely amazing! Only a God who loves us could give us such an amazing dwelling to house our soul.
"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." (1 John 3:16).
It is a sad fact of life that man is separated from God by his (man's) sins. "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2). However, God loves us so much that He was willing to give His Son that we might be reconciled to Him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).
Also notice; "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." (1 John 3:1).
Furthermore, He sent His Son knowing that some would be unthankful. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).
Let there be no question about it. Without God's Word, we would be lost with no way to find our way. "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." (Jeremiah 10:23).
God knew this so He went o great lengths to make sure that we would not be left without guidance. He inspired men to write down His Word for us. "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." (2 Peter 1:20-21).
Once completed, the one who wants to know and do God's will is supplied with everything that he needs to know. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
