Man's answer is many of them.  But according to the New Testament, there is only one.

Ephesians 4:5 teaches, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism".  And if that is not enough proof, then look at Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

These teaching there are many churches are blind leaders of the blind.  And unless they learn and obey the truth, both will fall into the ditch.  Matthew 5:13 says, "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up."

Every organization except the Lord's Church is a plant that will be rooted up.  They are all man made organizations and there is no salvation in them.  I have been told that there are some 2,000 man made "churches", or more.  And every now and then a new one pops up.

Why do we have all of these so called "churches"?  Well, there are a number of reasons.  There are those who love prestige, some power, others money or filthy lucre.  So many people are lazy, they just let someone else to the reading and then tell them what it means.  A false teacher really appreciates a person like that because they are so easy to lead astray.  In II Timothy 2:15, the apostle Paul gave some excellent advice to the young man Timothy, saying "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
