Tomorrow will never come for many people.
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14).
The nature of our life is that we are on earth only for a brief time.
What if tomorrow never comes in your life?
The Bible teaches we should, "And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:" (Philippians 3:9). I care nothing for self-achieved righteousness, I simply want to be found in Him.
I long to hear God say, "well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord" (Matthew 25:21,23). Whatever has been put into my hands my goal is to be trustworthy in it. Being God's faithful servant is what matters.
I realize, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (John 9:4). I desire to be busy with God's business during the daylight of my life. Night is coming.
Paul said, "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ" (I Corinthians 11:1). My prayer is that the example of my life can be such that I can say to family and friends, "follow my example; I followed the Messiah-- now you follow me".
"Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand." (Philippians 4:5). I want to serve my fellow man realizing that the Lord is near.
