A Continuing Topic of Discussion

A continuing topic of discussion is the way one becomes a child of God, a Christian. The old question, "What must I do to be saved" (Acts 16:30) is still a very new when one realizes his or her need for salvation.

The Answer Given According to the Bible

To be saved the individual is to Believe in Christ as God’s Son (Acts 16:30-34; John 8:24; Hebrews 11:6). One must Repent of sins (Acts 16:30-31; Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38). It is essential to Confess faith that Jesus is the Christ (Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 10:32-33; Acts 8:37). Then, as the final, consummating act of one’s obedience, it is essential to be Baptized to be saved (Mark 16:16).

When these matters are studied and discussed, a question which often arises is:

"Why stress the importance of baptism so much?"

The answer to this question is well answered in the following list of Bible references
